In 2009, we will return outstanding trainers, such as:
Robert Pittman, Senior Principal, Janus Economics, who has more than 25 years experience in business site location both domestically and internationally, will present sessions on How Companies Make Site Selection Decisions, Marketing Your Community, and Making Your Community Development Ready.
Joy Boruff, Executive Director of the Moline Foundation, who will present sessions on Community Foundations and Fundraising, Critical Issues in Managing a Non-Profit Organization, and Dealing with the Media.
We also will add several presenters who are new to CDI:
Jerry Hembd, Associate Professor, Northern Center for Community and Economic Development, University of Wisconsin-Superior will present sessions on How to Make Your Community More Sustainable and Vibrant. How can our communities be environmentally sustainable and still be economically strong? He shares stories of how Wisconsin communities are improving their economies and quality of life through sustainable development and environmentally responsible businesses.

Exciting field trips for 2009:
Participants will be able to choose from three field trips: Quad Cities Riverfront, Columbus Junction, IA., and Muscatine, IA. For information on the field trips, please click here.
The Stoney Creek Inn is a welcoming, comfortable location for the CDI gathering. Furthermore, the Quad Cities area, and Moline in particular, are interesting examples of community economic revitalization. They also have many attractions, including interesting museums and entertainment options.
